Well for me it was 6 months before anyone decided to even check my appendix. I had a very old doc who preferred to believe I had an eating disorder! Anyway finally saw someone else and sure enough it was appendicitis.
My symptoms were stomache and back pain, inability to eat (would either get very nauseas or throw up) Pain was much worse with movement. I lost about 20 pounds (and didn't need to lose any) I was also very weak but that could have been due to the fact that it took 6 months to get diagnosed so I lived on water, saltine crackers and oddly-ice cream would sometimes stay down.
Have it checked out. Also and by no means is this a substitute for a doctors exam but, if you lay down and press on the area over the appendix and it is appendicitis, it should hurt when you RELEASE the pressure, not so much when you ARE pressing. Really have it checked though because it's much simpler to deal with before it bursts! If it bursts you have an extreme emergency on your hands, not to mention the pain!

6 months ?!!? it takes 36-48 hours before it bursts?

also when you say stomach pain did it hurt when uwas sat and layed down? and did the pain move?

It can burst in that time frame if it's really bad, and depending on the level of inflamation and infection however, it can also take a long time (as in my case) because it wasn't acute to begin with and just got progressivley worse.
In answer to your other questions-yes it hurt to sit, bend, walk and if I attempted to run and I mean like a slight jog to the car The pain was intense and traveled around to my back. It also hurt to wear anything around my waist especially pantyhose (though you probobly don't wear those being your a guy, but hey if you do it will hurt) also belts, anything tight.
The pain moved all over the place- mid stomache, right side, even left side, my back, down toward the groin area, Really all over by the time someone actually decided hey, lets just press on her appendix and see what happens!
I was sent immediatley from the office to the emergency room and had to have emergency surgery. I was told I was extremely lucky that it hadn't burst yet. At that time(20 years ago) I was told that it was hard for them to see just how bad the inflammation was until they operated. Also in case anyone tells you that a high fever is necessary-it is not. I didn't have one. I did have fevers that came and went but never real high.

well it doesnt hurt all the tme with me, its just when im walking about and say tist or somtihng ill get the pain in my belly button, i went to the gym on tuesday probally is a pulled or torn muscle, and when i sit or lay theres no pain i mean the pains supposed to get worse and worse and move to the appendix, i also pressed all around (i dont no exactly where it is) but pressed every where and no pains :/ if anything changes like gets worse ill get to docs asap, the mian problem with me is i worry too much, as soon as i get a pain its like search the net lol!

If you go to the gym and lift weights it could also be a hernia. But pulled muscle is likely also. Mine didn't hurt all the time either right away, just got progressivley worse. Just keep an eye on it, I'm sure you'll know if it does end up being appendicitis. Can you eat ok? One of the biggest symptoms is not being able to eat without feeling like your going to or do puke!

WOW that's a high pain threshold! Good luck to you. with that sort of tolerance though I wouldn't wait for it to become unbearable because for you it may not. I have virtually no pain threshold and went to work everyday and still tried to do other things as well. My main concern was dying of starvation!

well i aint superman :D lol but my back was hurting so thats prob why i aint sure,i had pain where they cut me open for operation :/ there is always somthing uup with me tho i gt a headache im worried about brain tumour etc..

if i never heard of apendicitis i wouldnt be worrying coz it aint much pain, but its best to know about it than to sit in agony and not do anything, btw you have msn?

Not at first no. It was aggravated by activity.

Andy, check for rebound pain. That is the sure sign it is appendix. Press your belly around the area of pain and near your appendix. If the pain is worse when you release the pressure, that is the sign of appendicitis.
What is your age? Usually happens around your 20's but can happen anytime. Take care, Linda

Im 16 and ive been pressing where my appendix is then letting go and feel no pain, i think i pressed my bladder at one point coz i felt like liquid lmao, nah it doesnt hurt when i press it where its mos painful either its just when im walking around and like twist or somthing, ive told my parents there just like omg you havent got anything youd be in agony by now etc.. and its just a sharpish pain near my bely button, i THINK its alittle better from yesterday.

I mean i WORRY about everything, if i find a lump or have a headache im worrying about cancer, i dont know maybe ive gotten too paranoid over these things :(

That's ok Andy. A loy of people worry to much and are paranoid. It doesn't sound like appendicitis to me. I'll bet it was something you did at the gym like your first stated, pulled muscle etc. Stop worrying about it and enjoy your weekend. ;), Linda
