View Full Version : Cognitive problems, irritability.. ?

Here are my symptoms:
Trouble concentrating

Always tired and irritable

Usually anxious but can control it most of the time

I have a hard time putting my ideas and thoughts on paper. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and the idea is so eloquent in my head, but as soon as I get a paper and pen, I can only put down a few general keywords that mean nothing to me later on.

I have a hard time accessing information on the spot. For example, at this moment, if I were to try to list animals that begin with a certain letter, I'd only be able to get down 2-3. After a few hours or while in bed, I might get a stream of 10-20 names.

Short term memory seems to be operating on a deficit, as if I'm always zoned out.

The two latter problems are getting worse.. I'm physically very healthy, good diet, not taking any drugs or medication. Your diagnosis is appreciated, thanks.

Family history:
Father's side is good AFAIK.

Mother has psychosis, OCD, depression, anxiety.. so did her grandmother. That's about all I know.

Sounds like you may have a thyroid problem. Mention thyroid to your doctor and he or she should start up your blood work to determine your thyroid uptake. Be patient and try not to kill anyone in the mean time. I know what it can do from experience. Hair falls out, low pain threshold, nervous, can't sleep, worries, mind won't stop thinking. Hope that bit of info helps

If yo feel your heart is racing and you feel edgy, do measure your pulse. Unable to sleep is a sign of hyperthyroidism but the opposite where you feel tired and sleepy all the time may be to do with hypothyroidism.
Hair falling out is the common thing between them both
