Blair Betts and Ryan Hollweg of the New York Rangers both have had asthma since their childhood. As an asthmatic Ranger fan I was pleasantly surprised to learn not one but two members of the team have asthma. See how non-asthimatic players breathe heavy after a shift, I could never imagine a hockey player who has asthma do the same. But they do.

There are tons of asthmatic athletes out there...the trick is to get it under control and then determine the correct dosages and timing for albuterol before and during the event. I jog and it took several tries to get mine worked out...now I do 2 puffs 20 minutes before jogging. If I do more than about 4 miles I might have to medicate again...but not usually.

Yeah, now that you mention it: I recall hearing ex-Chicago Bull Dennis Rodman was asthmatic.
I jog and it took several tries to get mine worked out...now I do 2 puffs 20 minutes before jogging. If I do more than about 4 miles I might have to medicate again...but not usually. That's great.

That was probably the least of Rodman's problems!
