***I'm totally self medicating, and not advising that this is a course of treatment**** but this is the result of an unhelpful and stymied medical establishment as it relates to FM.

In my first post about 2 weeks ago, I stated that I didn't believe that I had FM. Since then I feel that this still may be correct but I started to read more and inquire about things that may help and aren't traditional medication since my MD will not help me.

For the last two weeks, I have been taking these supplements:

ashwagandha -300mg (supposed to be for sexual enhancement but has some ties to energy conversion - I'll take whatever side effects it may have ;) )
System Well ultimate Immunity - 2 tabs (I've been taking this for a long time, I haven't been sick in I don't know when)
Triple Energy Ginseng with Eleuthero 1200mg
dhea plus with resveratrol 50mg (resveratrol has been making news, but there was a new report recently that they have isolated the part of resveratrol and the fda might look at it as a drug)
Malic Acid with magnesium with 5-htp 6 caps (a lot of FM's take this, thought I would give it a shot)
super b complex with Vit.C - 4 tabs per day

This prescriptions -
klonipin - 25 mg/night - (for more restful sleep)
2 aleve in the morning to start the day (kill the pain before I have to start working)

and this weight loss supplement Slimquick extreme (I know, but it has a lot of energy boost stuff, as my MD would not give me anything to help wake me up and reduce the fog)

All I can say is that something is working - I felt immediate improvement with the klonipin as I finally, FINALLY feel rested. I still have pain everywhere and it never is in the same place every day, but it is much less. I have more energy (still less than before however) and can finally consider being active.

I still haven't been able to convince the MD to further check my thyroid beyond a tsh even though most on this board and other research tells me that this is probably a good thing to look at. They are also sending me for a sleep study in a few weeks, but I'm not feeling really strong that that will reveal anything of worth.

So glad you have found something that works for you. Aren't doctors amazine!? (I'm being somewhat sarcastic.)

Blessings,
Kirstee
