Might be an STD, might be a garden-variety infection (the kind you can catch without having sex) might even be a reaction to some irritating chemical that touched you. If it lasts more than a day or two, or if it keeps coming back, then you need to get it checked out. Go to the doctor, and make sure there are some tests done, cultures, etc.
