Hi my name is megan. I have been on birth control for about 8 months now. My first pill was Yaz, and that made me very very depressed, angry, and cry all the time. My doctor said it was because it was to high for my hormones so she put me on Mircette. I have been on that for a month and half but i just quite 2 days ago. Since then i have been having suicidal thoughts, nervousness, panic and anxiety attacks, depression, and blurred vision. It feels like i am always fading in and out and always always nervous. My heart is always beating fast and my mind is constantly boggling around. Half the time i even forget what im talking about when i am in a middle of a conversation. I just want to know how long these symptoms will occur and when it will get out of my body. Im now considering to try the Nuvaring because i have heard good things about it and it has a realy low dose for people like me that cant handle pills or shots. But how long should i expect these symptoms and when will they go away????

Hi, Megan -

Birth control pills deplete many of the B vitamins, hence the depression, anxiety, nervousness, etc. Try taking a B complex vitamin every day to replenish what's been lost, this should help you feel better. If you decide to go on any other hormonal birth control, still continue to take the B complex or else you'll probably feel the same things (depression, etc.) all over again. Good luck. :)
