View Full Version : I can't wait to get it out!!!

I'm having surgery to remove both ovaries two weeks from tomorrow (Dec. 19.) I have a 4-cm complex, solid ovarian cyst on my left ovary and a 4-cm functional cyst on my right. The cyst on the left, the complex one, is giving me fits!! My gyn/oncologist, who I see for follow-up from cervical carcinoma in situ, doesn't think it's cancerous, but of course, we won't know until the surgery.

Besides the localized pain from the cyst, which can be severe sometimes, I'm also having pain under my ribcage on the left, pain in my left shoulder blade and shoulder, and when I lie on my left side, it feels like I'm lying on something very hard.

In addition, I've had diarrhea for the past three weeks and nausea almost every time I eat or drink anything. (I gained 5 lbs during Thanksgiving, which I promptly lost within two days.) This morning was really bad - I got up, went to the kitchen and took one sip of cold water, and was immediately very sick to my stomach. I've been trying to get that to calm down all morning.

I'm just so tired of all of this! I need some relief! Can anyone relate?

I have history of complex cysts and I can relate to the pain and nausea. The only thing to come down the pain for me is pain meds, not the OTC kind either. My mother had the same types of problems I am presenting with and had to have a hysterectomy when she was 25. I turn 25 next coming June. Not that things are always just the same, but it is such a coincidence that I am going through this trouble right in the same time frame. I hope that with my HRHPV, CIN (II-III), and the complex cysts that trouble me all the time that I won't loose my ovaries or anything too soon. You have children already? I guess it wouldn't matter so much if you were through with all that stuff, which I am not. I don't have any children. That is why the doctor is recommending we start thinking about it if I do not have good results on my pap in jan. I don't think I can relate any better to you, but I hope you the best and that your surgery goes smoothly. I am keeping you in my prayers.

Hello Shashi,

I just wanted to offer you my support for your upcoming procedure. I am sure that everything will work out just fine and that you will be able to finally put this whole thing behind you. Try to put yourself in a positive state of mind before the procedure so that you will have a smoother and speedier recovery. Pamper yourself as much as you can ... long, warm bubble baths, hot water or tea with honey & lemon (this is very good when your stomach is not doing so well) and a good book, a nice refreshing walk once in a while .. etc.. I know that this must be difficult to do with all that is on your mind at the moment but playing out 30 different doomsday scenarios that will never actually take place is pointless. Better to channel your energy towards more positive pursuits. Our mind is our greatest enemy sometimes and this is one of those times. I wish you all the best for a super speedy recovery and when you are feeling up to it, do let us know how everything goes. Take good care of yourself.

Regards,

Estria
