Im 24 yrs old, and for the last year, Ive been getting very bad pains right below and around my belly button. Ive been to the doctor and they didnt know what it was. They gave me pain killers and sent me home. I get these pains almost every day and they last for 1-3 hours. Ive taking 2 Ibprufan 800's and the pain will not go away. After the worse of the pain goes, my stomach stays tender. I get chills, and cold sweats and feel light headed when I have the pains. What could this be? Help!

I really am not surprised that you still have stomach pains after taking Ibprubruffen. Please stop taking it for this type of thing, as it can cause you more damage in the long run. This is a non-steroidal med and along with Aspirin, can aggravate the stomach, so I am not surprised that you still have stomach pains and if you are taking this on a regular basis, it could actually be the cause of the stomach pains in the first place.
Also, 800mg is a huge dose to be taking and you can only normally get this on prescription. The most you can buy OTC is is 400mg. You could have anything from a stomach ulcer to something going on in your bowels, but please go back to your doctor and ask them to do further investigatons to find out what is going on, but also in the meantime, please change to some other form of analgesia, that will not damage your stomach as well.

2 800mg of Ibuprofen is a dangerous amount to be taking at one time. I would only hope that the doc told you it was ok to do this. Yes this type of med can cause increased stomach problems but unless you have been taking it for an extended period of time you should be fine if you don't abuse it. I do agree though that you need to go back to the docs office or ER and get more tests done to find out what is going on as soon as you read this.

You need to see a gastroenterologist and ask him/her to check for Chron's disease and/or other stomach diseases.
