for the past two days i have had swollen fingers and lips....i called the emergency room last night and they told me it was prob. an allergic reaction and to take benadryl i did and it still didnt go away what should i do should i go to the emergency room?

You can go to the ER or try and get a walk in appointment with an allergy immune specialist.. or an allergist. You can also try Claritin which is a prescription strength antihistamine that has been released OTC.

You may need steriods to helps suppress this if it is a severe allergic flare or a continuing irritant. Do you know what triggered it? Have you eaten something new? Been to a new area? Using new make up? If it is allergic in nature you should be able to find the trigger and eliminate it from your diet, daily regime. It helps to isolate the cause. What were you doing the hour or 15 minutes before this inflammation arose?
