Hello everyone, I asked this question on another board and didn't get any responses so I will try here since I have fibro and maybe it's related and I just never heard of it. I have swollen glands in my neck, but not where I woud normally get them from being sick you know like along the side of the neck. Mine are up high under my chin, jaw area. They have been going up and down (but never completly away) since August. They are also painful, especially when I bend forward. I have been on two courses of antibiotics since this began. The first time I had bronchitis, the second possibly sinus infection though I've had many sinus infection before this one was different. The pain I had in my face, jaw, head was excrutiating and felt like it was actually in the bones instead of the regular sinus symptoms I usually get. Anyway after the second round of antibiotics (very strong ones) the sinus symptoms went away but still have the gland problem. I had a real bad soar throat also which is gone too. I'm beginning to think that these swollen glands are somthing else entirely but have no idea what. Does any one else have glands in this area that swell for no apparent reason?

Hi Kdel,
I'm not all that medically knowledgeable, but I've read somewhere that swollen lymph nodes (which are in the area you describe) are just another symptom of Fibro. Also, even a strong run of antibiotics may still leave something for the body to work on.. ie: the glands produce the fighter cells/compounds that destroy invading germs, and also do a lot of the clean up. It might be that they are still swollen because the antibiotics killed the infection, but the toxins and dead germs still haven't been completely absorbed by your lymph node armies. I have swollen glands like you describe almost constantly. I have FM and also a screwed up thyroid (which is also swollen.. chokes me at times). All I can truly advise though is to check with your doctor to make sure all the infections are dealt with. Good luck. ;)

I have swolen glands and a sore throat constantly. But check with your doc to make sure it's not something else.. Do you think you may have had strep throat?
