I have a question reguarding post dated script for lortab. Normally I get my stuff filled during the day but with my new night time job its easier for me just to have them filled at night. I tried a while back on having my patches refilled and the pharmacist said he wouldnt fill it till the morning.. Was this due to them being a CII?
Anyways, I just wanna get my lortabs filled so when I get off my shift I can come home and sleep and not drive 20 mins to get them filled.. The script is set for the 6th so at 12:01am I should be able to fill them right?

For some reason, if it is on insurance, the day begins at 6:00am - we tried to fill something at 4:00am before getting on a airplane - the only way was to pay cash????????? and according to my walgreens most of the 24 hour pharmacies start their day at 6 good luck Aver

It really varies state to state as far as the laws on post dated scripts and filling them at night. I would imagine in the case of your patches not being filled, it might have been that pharmacies policy or maybe they were locked up and not available to the pharmacist. They may not dispense C-II meds during certain hours.
As far as Lortabs, they are a C-III and I don't know of a reason you couldn't fill them at 12:01 AM. That is, assuming there is no law in KY prohibiting post dated scripts. If it were me, I think I would call the pharmacy before the day you want to go in and ask them. Maybe call during the day, when the Head Pharmacist is available?

Hi Jodom, As far as the C-11, I think most pharamcist would be suspect of class 11 when there is no way to verify by calling the doc. They aren't quite as worried about the class 111 or lortab, but if post datung is something that's illegal in your state and your doc does it out of the kindness of his heart. You may be dropping him in the well by filling a script at a time and date there is no way your doc could have done anything other than post date it. Obviously you didn't just come from the doc and ER scripts are easily distinguished. . 20 minutes in the day may seem inconveinant, but looking for a new doc because he may be doing something he shouldn't do could become a lot more than inconveinant for your doc and all his patients. It's illegal to post date a script in my state, but scrripts are good for months from the time they are written, 90 days on C-11 and 180 on C-111 or higher in VA.
Why doesn't your doc just use refills or 90 day supplies on the the lortab?
Good luck, Dave

Hey Dave,
Yeah I hate my setup.. Im constantly going in at different times of the month to get things filled.. My doc noticed this and is in the process of getting everything down to 1 day.. My BT tabs on the 5th, my patches on the 12, my klononpin on the 24th its really a mess.. So we are working on spacing them together closer as I mentioned it has been a pain. Now with me working nights being a supervisor and in chronic pain it makesit hard to get these things done during the day and also try and get this thing we call sleep LOL .
Im kinda angry that there are no more options for my nerve pain at this point. My PM wants me to wait a few years before installing a pump in hopes maybe a new treatment option will come about for RSD. Getting my pain meds filled is always a taxing experiance.. They treat me like a drug addict and are always rude. Due to me being in KY there isnt a mail order program for workers comp (illegal). They make me feel so shameful everytime I fill them with the looks and comments.. Well im hoping to just get all of this put to where I can get my refills done in one day.

Hi Jodom. I also live in KY and since all those doctors got busted for diversion of Oxycontin scrpts its been a nightmare getting and keeping a good doctor and pharmicist.
You shouldn't let ANYONE make you feel bad for needing pain meds. Especially not anyone at the pharmacy. Your scripts help pay their salary!! I went throught this with Walmart and refuse to go there anymore. I went to the head pharmacist AND the store manager after I overheard some awful comments made about me and the amount of meds I was taking. If I could hear them, so could everyone else!! I made it clear that I would take my business elsewhere and would also advise anyone I knew to do so as well.
Anyway, I found a great MOM & POP pharmacy and they are terrific. If they don't see me within a few days of needing my refills they actually call to check on me.
If I were you, I would seriously consider finding another pharmacy. We have enough to deal with being chronic pain patients without having to deal with ignorant pharmacy staffers.
Take care!
