hey everyone. as i mentioned in other posts after 5 months of taking yaz i started feeling its side effects. i have been doing tons of research on it, and im reading some scary things about it. anyway i just started my 6th pack last week... and was planning to quit after finishing the pack, but now im considering stopping earlier. is this safe? can i stop the pill mid pack, or should i finish it? please please, i need some info. thanks

Technically, you can stop anytime. But the reason why majority of women wait until the end of their pack is to prevent the bleeding that happens once you stop.

Remember that you will have a withdrawal bleed within a few days of taking your last active pill. If you want to try to keep a normal cycle, then you should probably wait until the end of the pack.

Also, keep in mind that a lot of women who quit the pill end up not having another period for several months after quitting. That's because your hormones are out of whack and need some time to get back to normal. I've read that it can be anywhere from just a month or two to up to a year before periods return to normal. Don't be surprised if it happens to you.
