i had the same problem after my gallbladder surgery i was concerned to but i was reassured by my dr that it could take about 2-4 weeks to get back to 100% feeling better.so just hang in there it will subside.if it is tstill there and you are worried tell your dr. when you go for your follow up.hope this helps.also hold a heating pad on your stomache this helps the pain subside.this worked for me.

Symptoms would be pain or achy feeling just under your right rib cage. Sometimes it can radiate to your shoulder or back. I only had the pain under the rib, so everyone is different.

Also, after eating fried foods, or anything that may not digest easily can induce more pain.

I had my gallbladder removed after a scan proved it was no longer functioning. I still have to be careful of my diet as sometimes I get phantom pains, like my gallbladder is still there! Seems the liver takes over for the gallbladder so that may be why.

I HAD MY gulbladder out a few weeks ago, from Jan 26th.
after surgery i was sooo sick i had yellow eyes and threw up every time i drank water or stuck what ever food in my mouth. for 5 sickened days. my family was soo soo good to me.i was stupid to wait soo long i should of been in the hospital. on the 6th day i did go to the hospital it was aweful all through the night i threw up but the lord took my pain.
after the 5th day all i felt was nasia. i went to Emergency and they found a stone in my pancreus.(digestive system).
i was one in 500 woman this happened to, my surgen i was admited for 4 days. my surgen is a born again christian and he laid his hands on my stomach and I WAS HEALED. that moment i was totaly healed by the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
AN ALTRA SOUND WAS GIVEN TO ME AND AFTER A FEW HOURS LATER not one stone was found. i was HEALED PRAISE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
IM FINE STILL HEALING. WATCHING WHAT I EAT AND NOT SHUVING FATS IN MY MOUTH, I HAD A HOT DOG YESTERDAY THEY SAID IT WAS ALL BEEF BUT IT WASN'T I AM SICK TODAY WITH THE RUNS. I HAVE LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT SINCE MY OPPERATION. I HAVE TO REALIZE THAT I CAN'T SHUV FATTY FOODS IN MY MOUTH. I KNOW SOME CAN BUT WHY WASTE MY BEAUTIFUL BODY FOR FATTY FOODS.
THIS NOTE IS FOR ALL TO SEE, SO U WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO IF THIS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU.
Jennifer.

If you are feeling lousy and still in pain--you could have a gas bubble from the anesthetic. This happens to a lot of people who go under. It can be very painful and last a few days to a few weeks. You are still just getting over the surgery and it will hurt for a while but if it continues for a bit ,ask your DR about it. Did you have a laprascope surgery?????
Some times people still get the big cut!!!!

I had my gallbladder taken out in Feb. 2002 and I have attacks now too. I actually went to the ER one night in terrible pain and they said it was the stomach flu..I think they was wrong. I have had quite a few attacks after mine was taken out. Next time you have the pain head to the Er and have them take blood, it could possibly be your pancreas. My mom had the same thing happen to her and the only way you can find this problem is while your having an attack.

It has been 9 months since I had mine taken out. I was seven months pregant when I had the surgery.
I thought that I was in labor and I felt like I was going to die.
Since I had it taken out, I have the hardest time finding food that actually agree with my stomach. Everytime after I eat I get instant diareah. It is a pain. It seems to hit me more when I eat my first meal of the day.
I had spoken with my aunt, she is an RN and she told me it was because of have a lack of stomach byle. I do not know what to do, all the doctors tell me is to watch my diet and not to eat fatty foods. I do not understand, it does not matter what I eat, everything I eat makes my stomach hurt to high heaven.
I do not know what to do anymore, this is getting really irritating. If anyone has any advise then I would like to hear it.

Smbernhus, there is a great thread on this very
subject. The topic is "Gallbladder Removal Side
Effects' the last post was on 8-1-03 - Go back and
read this. It gives a name for this condition
and some things you can do to help prevent it.

I sent this to my Mother-in-law because she had
the same problems. Hope this might help you.
