We just discovered that my 16 year-old daughter has an arachnoid cyst of about 2 cm. She's had symptoms such as occasional dizziness and mild headaches (which have now ceased). The doctor has already said those symptoms are not related to this cyst. We're visiting the neurosurgeon next week and the nurse as much as told me on the phone that he would be prohibiting her involvement in any contact-type sports (she plays soccer). Does anyone else have experience with this condition as it relates to athletics? This would be the worst possible news to her. Thankfully, she has zero anxiety about the presence of this cyst and just wants to do her life!

My Dad who is 59 has this. They found it in his 40's will doing a CT Scan. As far as I know it doesn't affect him in any way and has no treatment.
