View Full Version : Missing Period after stopping birth control...?

I was on birth control from this past Aug-November. I was getting my period on time once a month when it came time for the placebo pills (usually a day or two after I started taking the sugar pills). November 4th was when I started the placebo pills and last got my period.

I wanted to get off of bc, so after that last period that started the 4th of November, I didn't take them anymore. Instead, my boyfriend and I have been using diaphragm & spermacide plus (always) a condom. No accidents.

It's now Dec 8th, and no period. Should I be worried? Nevermind, I am...so I took a pregnancy test first thing this am and it was negative. I am breaking out like I usually do before my period. When I am not taking birth control, I have a longer, irregular cycle. I also heard that when you stop bc you may not get your period on time.

Hmm...I guess I will just cross my fingers and hope for my period soon. I'm just wondering if anybody else experienced this after going off of birth control (I only took it for 4 months straight...could it still affect me like that?)

Thanks you guys!

You heard right! That's what happens to a ton of women when they quit the pill. It doesn't matter if you were only on a few months or many years, some women just can't get their cycle back to normal for a while. The hormones really screw up your body, so it's not surprising.

Ok, thanks alot for your reply!

It's been 11 days now and still no period, and I took another test this morning (I'm keeping those pregnancy test companies in business eh?) so I'm thinking it's definately from stopping the BC and my hormones trying to regulate on their own...I guess that takes som time to work itself out. I still think if I don't get it in another week or two, I will get a blood test done just to be 100% sure.
