I was just diagnosed this week with posterior vitreous detachment. My eye doctor told me it is a piece of the vitreous detached from the retina. Mine looks like the letter C and is to the left of my vision. He said it will not go away, but could drop out of line of vision in months or even years. It is very irritating and I can't imagine having it day in and day out. I found a doctor in Florida on the internet that does laser surgery on them. I'm serious considering it. By the say, I'm also from Ontario. Wish I could be more helpful, but it's new to me also
