LOVE LOVE LOVE Hatchbacks. They are the longest lasting shoe I have found, so EASY to take on and off - no more struggling. I am confident you will love them. I bought them on line from the web site - no problems, they have a size chart for ordering that was easy to understand and use. I had such a problem with shoes "breaking down" at the heel and becoming so hard to get on - Hatchbacks are terrific. My son wears afo's with an insert and his feet are wide to begin with - they fit great.

hi annie,
my problem is that over here the company that sells them charges more than double the us company,
but now that there is a uk seller i can't get them direct from hatchbacks in the us, they won't do it.
they tell me they would have to charge me import tax and ridiculous postage charges ect
and that would make them much more expensive than over here anyway.
personally i thought that they were just fobbing me off,
i can't win.

Thanks for posting about the shoes! I am always wanting to learn to help "my kids" (the kids I work for). Oddly, the mother of the girl I watch just had a conversation about her daughter's shoes last night. Her black patent leather shoes that her mother bought at Kmart or wherever did not work well on Wed night for her choir performance. They kept slipping off and making it hard for her mother to help her walk, and it makes the girl trip up too, and the whole thing makes it dangerous for both of them. I doubt this mother will buy 60.00 shoes, but then she can't complain she can't find shoes that work. For sneakers, it is not such a big deal. I hate putting her sneakers on, but the mother of course has no issues. The girl would love to be able to wear shoes like her peers. I hope the company comes out with more styles for teens and pre teens. The girl also mentioned that she hates that she can only wear boots and sneakers. So I hope the mother will consider the black patent leathers. They are too cute! Thanks again for posting about them, I never knew they had shoes for kids with special needs. This board has been a blessing added to my life.

We have used the Hatchbacks and I think they are great. You just have to be carefull because not all of the hatchbacks are made for braces, only a few select are. Right now we are using Advance Comfort Footware. They look like a nice "normal" tennis shoe. The insole is layered so that you only have to take out a little at a time to get that perfect fit. Just my two cents:)

hatchbacks are twice as expensive in the uk than they are in the US
they won't ship over here, so the uk supplier is the only place i could go to.
i would love to hear where else i could get nice shoes to go over a 2yr olds afo.
she only wears it on one legs hence me thinking the hatchbacks elite were the perfect shoe,
if anyone knows anything i could try please let me know, so that she can be just the same as her friends
thanks
