Ok, I had chlamydia and i got the medicine from my doctor on wednesday and took the 2 500 Mg zithromax pills. It is now Saturday, and the symptoms are gone and I had unprotected sex with this girl last nite? Do you think it has gone away or can she possibly be infected?

That's probably a question for your doctor. I always thought you were supposed to abstain from sex during treatment and also for the next 7 days after completing treatment. At least, that's how it was when I had it back in the day (1988). I could be wrong, though, things could be different now, that was a long time ago. Back then, tetracycline was prescribed for this disease and it was taken every six hours (4 times a day), every day, for a week. So, obviously the antibiotics they use today must be a lot stronger. Still, check with the doctor.

yes, it takes about a week for the zithromax to be fully effective. it is possible that you could have infected the girl and also put yourself at risk of other sti's. You should have been advised not to have unprotected sex for 7 days after the stat dose.
