I have a somewhat related question, I hope you don't mind if I attach it here. I've been going to a gym for 10 months. I go 5x a week and usually do 30 minutes of cardio. In order to maintain the same results do I need to increase the amount of time I spend doing cardio after some point in time, or can I continue my 30 minutes/5 times and expect the same results. What about resistance - does that need to increase?

(I suppose I should increase for a while until the holidays are over.)

to the original poster - yes that should be plenty to maintain.

to the second poster and original poster - your body gets used to doing the same thing over and over again. so you get less results. It is good to change up ever so often to shock your body. instead of the treadmill, do a bike, instead of a bike do the stair master, instead of the stair master use the eliptical or combine two. Adding time is also a way to shock your system.
