I take a generic brand of lamictal called lamotrigne and over the past...oh...6 months that I have been taking it I have noticed that compared to lamictal I have been having very odd dreams. They aren't bad in any case...well maybe one or two, but they are very vivid. Before I was diagnosed with JME(Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy) I had never had such strange dreams. I've had epilepsy for a year come December 20th. Does anyone have the same experience with this medication or any other medication?

Interesting that you say that. I never thought of a connection between my meds and a few "in depth" dreams I had a while back. I was either on Depakote or Lamictal at the time. Wish I could have the date nailed down better than a range.

Anyway, my comment was going to be, After Keppra started, and more so noted (or remembered?) after Topamax was added with it (the Teg has been a constant since the start for me) my dreams have LACKED. Best way to say it for those that study sleep and what I have read (being we don't recall most dreams) would be I simply do not recall having dreams anymore. I think I had *one* this summer and that shocked me when I recalled it.

Going back to my strange dream times... I had one that was a REPEAT dream. Never had that happen before. The dream occurred twice, the exact same dream, of events that never took place in the past. However the persons involved were real, and at first in the dream their conditions (medical) were. That was until fiction came in and let me see what I had hoped for years on that person (comatose) would (recovery) happen.

I understand what you mean. Very detailed specifics were in my dream such as book titles in my bag! Yah thats strange (real books!). Why remember multiple titles (and not NEW either).

I guess I chalked it up to being concerned about her and my mind being on that when I fell asleep the dream just happened to focus on that thread of memory and concern in both short term and long term memory.

When I was on Dilantin for a few months after my first GM, I had such vivid dreams that they gave me panic attacks.

I'm on 500 mg per day of lamictal for my seizures. The vivid dreams started once I was up to 300 mg. The dreams are strange and I usually remember them in some detail.
