Don't be a tough guy-always, ALWAYS wrap your hands before you box. Make sure you know how to wrap properly too <removed>. Coming from a person with small wrists, this is the most important thing you can do to keep your exercises going, cuz if your hands hurt, you can't work out.
Also make sure that the wraps are put on tight and without wrinkles: make it loose enough that it doesn't cut off circulation, but very tight.
The way you punch matters a lot too: A good technique should prevent or stave off a lot of damage to your wrists. If you notice yourself slacking off when you're tired and your technique gets sloppy, refocus yourself and then take a break. Believe me, the extra precautions are preferable to sitting around, waiting for your wrists to heal.

Started a new thread with this post, with reference to the original thread. Please do not reply to a 3-year-old thread. It really slows down the server. Thank you.
