Hi,
My GP thinks I might have a "mass" in my head/neck since I've been complaining of cold feet and hands and 2 of right hand fingers show something like Reynaud's syndrome.
My hands get chilled all the time and I feel numb often on my nose/ears/tongue/hands and feet.
I am only 30 years old and am so worried about being handicap from the result of a tumor or something.
WHile the MRIs are scheduled and the neurologist appt is 2 weeks away, I can't help but worry.
Is there a decent chance of a full recovery from tumors. I know there can't be a single answer, it really depends on the type/location/spread of it..
anyways just interested to know people's experiences and I hope there is hope for me.

Does anyone else have these symptoms
- Numbness and a chilled feeling off and on in the hands and feet ?
- Poor blood circulation in some fingers in the right hand off and on ?
- Feel like the head is wobbling but it is not ?
I am waiting on orders for an MRI scan and it takes forever .. but am extremely concerned.

sorry for what you are dealing with but unfortunetly any real hard answers will require the MRI to really determine.there could be many possible casues for your symptoms that can run from a possible brain issue down to some level of disease process or condition and to a problem within your c spine in your neck area.see what i mean?that MRI will hopefully show something solid that will point to the problem.i wish i could give you a more reassuring answer to your question, but it will take the MRI,hopefully with a contrast agent?in order to really hopefully point to something that will be able to be resolved without too much real intervention.you just have symptoms that could be stemming from any number of reasons.sorry.please let me know what you actually find out,K?just try and hang in there til that MRI gets done.i know that is much easier said than done(been there done that) but you really don;t have a lot of choice right now.hopefully its not as bad as you think.let me know.K?Marcia

Wanted to give an update.
My MRI results came back negative (that is normal) which is very relieving.
I have a neurologist appt next week and I hope I get help to figure out the cause of the chilled feeling and numbness in my hands and feet.
Thanks

dream77....you need to be tested for Diabetes. Tingling/numbness in the hands and feet are a symptom. I am going through this right now. In fact it is 4:10 am and I cannot sleep because of this. This is only one of the symptoms I have. Mine started with a left clogged ear 6 months ago which I still have today. I was first seen by my GP who treated me for allergies which did not help. Then referred me to an ENT who determined he could not find anything so I was referred to an audiologist who said besides a little hearing loss in the L ear everything was fine so then referred me to an Oral Surgeon for possible TMJ. By this time I developed tingling and numbness, also a cold feeling in my hands and feet. During this time I have had an MRI and CAT Scan of my head and both were negative. The OS said I have minimal TMJ and he thought the problem was muscular. He fitted me with a night guard to prevent me from grinding my teeth at night and muscle relaxors all in hopes that if this was causing the clogged ear it would resolve the problem. The night guard actually makes my ear worse.
I also went for massages if it were muscular and I was sent to physical therapy whith no response. I then went to a Chiropractor as a last resort. I have no insurance for this service so I am spending a small fortune going 3 times a week. Today he suggested I have an MRI of my neck since he is unable to relieve the numbness and tingling. I will make an appt with my GP tomorrow to discuss this. I am also going to have him check me for diabetes again. I was checked 2 years ago and told at that time I was very close. My grandmother, aunt and mother all had type 2 so I would not be shocked if I have it. It may mean I have 2 problems and not just one. If you have no other symptoms I would rule out diabetes next.

Sandee,
Thanks..
Actually I am already on hi risk for Type 1 diabetes (coz of a C peptide test) and keep testing my levels regularly like once a couple of days at random times and have my A1C done every 3 months. So far I am not diabetic.. "So far"
Well the neuro said the nerve disease could be coz of the hyperthyroid phase I had a couple of months ago or an auto immune response to a gastro bug I got 3-4 months back.. who the F*** knows.. It is not pain and I believed diabetic neuropathy is typically cause with HI sugar levels over atleast some period of time longer than a few months. My sugar levels are under 130 most times I've checked.
Dunno.. am just battling it out.. it s***s big time.

I do not understand the Diabetic thing. My levels are always around 90 and 110. That soundas good to me but my Dr says that when they do the glucose test my levels start out high but over a couple hrs instead of coming down gradually like they do in a normal person mine plummet! I guess this makes me a canidate for diabetes. I am supposed to eat a snack every couple hrs. Yah right! I either eat all the time or forget to eat. I have an appt with my GP tomorrow so will discuss checking my blood sugars again and a possible MRI of my neck. I just wish this numbness would go away and my ear would open up like normal. My quality of life is in the crapper right now as every waking hr is spent dwelling on my ears, hands and feet.....grrrr!

Just an update. I went to the Dr again today and she still feels my numbness in my hands and feet is related to the TMJ. She put me on a creme to rub into my temples and the back of my ears. She said I hvae a knot on the left side of my back and recommended heat. To continue wearing my night guard and gave me somthing like Ibprofen for muscel joints. She also feels it is alergy related too though I have taken so many allergy meds and nothing helped. She said she can see the puffyness in my eyes and they connet with the ears and nose. I think she forgot to give me a prescription for allergy meds. Anyway we will see if this creme helps with the bone inflammation and in turn if it helps with the numbness in my hands and feet. I hope so and hope you also find relief from this problem. She will check my blood sugars when i have my yearly physical in Jan.
