Ok i'm new to this site, and I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. I'm 28 yr's old, I have been wearing contact lenses for 9 years, and ever since I was 19 I have been having 2 reocurring problems and I have never thought anything of them till 8 years later. I have had a lump under my chin that gradually comes and goes and it hurts, it's also very embarrasing. The wierd thing is it moves from one place to another, sometimes it's on my right side under my chin the next time it's on my left side, sometimes it's right below my lower lip, and rarely it appears over my top lip. Either way it comes and goes it hurts and it just disappears. I'm really scared that I might have some form of cancer.

My second reocurring problem is a Chalazion that I have and it comes and goes just like the lump on my chin, and it appears on both eyes, left or right. It also tends to change location, it sometimes reocurrs on the bottom of my eyelid and sometimes it reoccurs on the top. These couple of days have been so stressful because I have been reading about all these diseases, and I'm really scared that I might have something serious. Today it appeared on my left eye twice....=( plus I had a terrible headache. I'm really scared. Both of these problems are reocurring with soo much frecuency, I believe it might be something very serious.

If anybody has any information that will help me identify this problem, I would really appreciate.

Thanks,

Gabe

Welcome to the Forum.
These are wonderful people.
Unfortunately, I don't have any answers for you, but I believe the best thing for you to do, is make an appointment with an Ear, Eyes, Nose & Throat doctor.
If you haven't gone to your regular General Practitioner, perhaps see him first.
You need some guidance. Don't allow yourself to get so stressed.
It "may" be something, and it "may" not.
Only a doctor can tell you that. Stressing does your body no good....You're talking to the "Stress Queen" here....I speak from experience.
Good luck.
Keep us posted.

Hi Gabe,

I also get the chalazion cysts on my lower lids. They are caused by oil glands getting clogged up. Sometimes they go away by themselves. If they get sore you can use a clean, warm washcloth and use it as compress several times a day. Do NOT use really hot water though. This will bring the cyst to a head and it will drain. If they ever look infected, go to the eye DR. and he will give you an antibiotic for you to use in your eye. Most of them usually go away left alone. Once in awhile the Dr. will have to remove it but not often.

As for the others. I can only guess that they are also cysts that come up and then drain by themselves. If this happens often go to you physician and let him take a look while it is bothering you. I really doubt it is any kind of cancerous tumor as they don't keep going away and coming up somewhere else. But if you are worried about it go to the Dr. and get it checked out.Worrying never makes a problem better,or makes you live a day longer. But it is not good for your health in general and may really make you life a little shorter. Took me a lot of years to figure this one out.:)

Hope this helps.
