TanyaB 12-14-2007, 03:58 PM could tonsilitis have anything to do with allergies Sannah 12-15-2007, 10:00 AM Hi Tanya, when my daughter's allergies were uncontrolled her tonsils were very large. Once we got her allergies under control her tonsils returned to normal. Poppet65 12-15-2007, 02:20 PM I'd say it's the reverse... that allergies create tonsillitis. At least that was the case for me... with post nasal drip, the tonsils are infected and become swollen and gradually eaten away at by the nasal drip acid. People with sinusitis often have tonisillitis. They go hand in hand. At 35, I had a sinus operation which removed fungus balls and polyps, then after recovering, two months later had my tonsils removed. Doing so has helped end what apnea I also encountered. Allergic1 12-24-2007, 12:55 AM Before I had ever been tested for indoor/outdoor, and food allergies I went through a period where I would get a tonsil infection every summer. My tonsils would become huge and swollen, I had a fever and everything. I went through this for about 3 years straight. I got tested, I found out what I was allergic to, and I haven't had a tonsil infection since then. |
