Appearently it didn't post... Try again!
Had emergency room visit back in spring, car insurance payed majority of hospital bill (80%), but Blue Cross repeatedly feigns ignorance about not receiving bill, so naturally cannot do ANYTHING!

Halifax Medical Center Billing Department has told me (as well as a work colleague of mine) that this is a reoccurring problem. they 'fax' a copy to Blue Cross, but it gets nowhere! I have even went so far as to mail a copy myself, still 'no knowledge"! Should I send a copy via certified mail? Then sue in small claims court? suggestions? [removed].com

[please note that the board guidelines do not allow
the posting of personal contact information. thank you http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif]

I would try the certified mail route. If that doesnt work then if they have an office in your area show up with a copy of the bill and hand it personally to them.
Make sure you keep a copy of the certified mail recipe and such. Then if that does fail youhave proof of this and can take it to court.

No hissing or booing please http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif....I actually work for the company, however not on the HMO side.
Here's what I can tell you.... Certified mail will not help, it will actually take longer (I’m talking weeks) to reach a customer service representative.
As far as small claims court, you should contact the Insurance Commissioner first if you think the insurance company is not following the law.
As a customer here's what I would do. Have Halifax send you a copy of the claim. It's called a UB92. Call the customer service number on the back of your ID card and ask for a Supervisor,(STAY CALM when you talk to them, you get more flies with honey) explain your situation, get their name and number and ask if they will accept the fax themselves, then ask for a follow up call after it's been received.
Normally you shouldn't have to be so involved with getting claims processed, but obviously BCBS and Halifax are having a problem getting their stuff together on this one. By getting the claim and
faxing it yourself, you KNOW it's being done.
Hopes this helps alittle.
