Do you have any conditions that you are being treated for? All of these things make a difference. Some of them such as Healthnet and Blue Shield actually offer quotes online. You need to get educated about the difference between a PPO and an HMO and decide which is better for you. As I said before, if cost is your biggest concern then you may have to look into a major medical plan. These plans tend to be more inexpensive than an HMO, but they don't cover any costs until you are 5-10K out of pocket in any given year. Sort of insurance for those who never get sick. One thing I can tell you if you can work for a company that provides insurance thta is you best bet. If not there are only two companies in New York that will give you indivual insurance and they are: Humana Health Care Oxford Heath Insurance You are looking to spend at least $350.00 a month on any health insurance in NY.
