Was anyone around King Faud (sp?) Airport that is suffering sicknesses? I was with the 15th MI Bn there and have had several problems. Was wondering if there was anyone else.

"Gulf War Syndrome, Legacy of a Perfect War"
written by Alison Johnson

This book has a lot of info for every one.

I was assigned to KFIA(1606th SPS,Kirtland AFB,NM-354TFW Prov.) from August/90 to April/91.
I remember the night that a Scud landed VERY near the tent city area.

I remember that the detectors were ALL going off. We were told later by some staff wennie capt. that it was a malfunction. Right, sure it was.

I have GERD Acid Reflux". I developed symptoms a few weeks after returning from the desert. I started eating antacids like they were candy! I was in Germany a year later when I had an attack. I thought I was having a heart attack. That's when I started seeing what was really going on. Everytime I brought up GWS the docs would scrap the paperwork and start over and remove their previous notes, they'd tell me I was not to worry. They gave me "tagament". That worked for a while. I now take Prevacid. I was just scoped for possible eshopigeal cancer. I am neg for cancer. Looks like my kids get to keep me around a little longer.

Feel free to resond.

we should start calling gulf war vets 'the silent vets'

most of us don't even want to talk about it or took our oaths
so seriously we just came home and blended in...which worked
fantastically for uncle sugar once our guinea pig symptoms started
popping up...

and btw, i've run across alot of 'posers'...better not be any on here cuz i'll
bust you out if anyone tries and pull a hollywood on people here :nono:

Hey X54B,
I was over in the Gulf at the same time you were (Aug to Apr). I passed the airport a few times. Prior to being in the desert the entire time, we were at the port for a week. I also have health problems from being over there. Im sure you know it is a battle in itself with the VA. Feel free to ask any questions, etc. Im always around.
