It usually doesn't work, but you can try this U.S. veteran:

Since I can't post websites or e-mail addresses, I'll just try to describe some of the information I've gleaned off the Internet myself. The U.K. and Canada are the most aggressive in treating Gulf War Illness and autoimmune system diseases I have found. There are two search engines that will guide you to British research sites, and probably self-help groups. Search for Gulf War Illness on both Alta Vista and Lycos. Tap into WebMD regarding Gulf War Syndrome. Frequently, you can click on related links or specifically post your questions via e-mail. Also, input the names of European health jouranls as key search words. Here in the U.S. I would search for the Journal of the American Medical Association. In the U.K. I would probably search for a Journal of International Medicine or Journal of Infectious Diseases or Journals that deal with environmental contamination or dangerous workplaces. Each of them should offer links to chatboards or something similar. Best of luck to you. Sorry I can't post links to all the British and Czech research I have pulled of the Internet.

i hope that this reply will help many vets who are suffering from gws, as i am...i was a usaf bomb loader serving in southern saudi arabia during sheild and storm...i was far enough away from the frontlines to not be directly affected by the fighting and scuds, and i mention this because i don't believe that post traumatic stress disorder applies in my case...but since the end of the war, i have been suffering from unbelievable headaches that manifested themselves in patches of sensitivity on my scalp that changed size and location, smothering asthma, insomnia that would last for several days, fatigue, and other strange symptoms that i had never experienced before...luckily for me, my stepmother, who is a nurse suggested that i try colloidal silver, which i had never heard of...i was skeptical, and wasn't even going to go visit my dad and stepmom, until my wife insisted that we make the trip...my stepmom gave me colloidal silver that she made in her home to drink 3 times a day for 3 days...on the fourth morning, i woke up with NO HEADACHE for the first time in years...i could breathe much better, and my fatigue was gone...it felt as if a giant weight had been lifted off my chest...i became an instant believer in the effects of colloidal silver, i bought a silver making machine and i have been using it every day ever since...i would strongly suggest anybody who is suffering from gws to at least TRY colloidal silver...it gave me my life back
good luck everybody
