My husband has a scar on his leg. This was an open sore for over three years after his return from Iraq. According to the VA doc when he had it examined, it appeared to be a burn from the bone out, rather than the skin in. But no further explanation was given for it. By the time a doctor actually took the time to examine it, the scar had formed so no tests could be preformed or anything. How it happened has always fancinated me. When he arrived home it was nothing more than the size of a pea. It grew over time dispite all we did to treat it. Today the scar is the size of a half dollar.
Has anyone else had experience with something like this? Or heard of anything like this? he is always something cut out or removed so I am just curious if maybe it was some type of mass or something that could have ruptured and we did not know about it at the time. He did receive treatment for it while in Iraq. h eis curious about it too so I thought I would see if otehrs had similar experiences and had any idea as to what it could be.
Thanks
Tracie
