Almost everyday of my life i have some sort of sinus pressure somewhere in my head or face. Or some kind of sinus headache. Does anyone have any advice on any herbs that would help me? Iv even been thinking of going to acupuncture?
Thanks

Accupunture could help you. You could also drink some herbal teas.

Some herbs that will help are goldenseal, enchinacea, horseradish, nettle, etc.

You can add peppermint or eucalyptus essential oils to a humdifier.

Also modifying your diet could help because that may be the culprit, you could be allergic or sensitive to some thing you are consuming.

I have quite a few suggestions, and i'll list them in order of the BEST ones first:

1 - For sinus infections, collodial silver and oregano oil are outstanding for knocking an infection out quickly.

2 - A neti pot is very good for keeping the sinus area cleansed so that mucous and bacteria can't hang around and cause problems.

3 - Bromelein and quercetin are excellent for keeping inflammation down which is what causes the bacteria to start building up

4 - Xlear is an outstanding nasal spray that contains grapeseed extract that destroys bacteria that can cause infections

There are many more, but these are the BEST that have helped me. GOOD LUCK!

I was at the end of my rope with sinus issues. I saw my ND who did two things: he had me tested for food allergies using the ELISA method and I took Thorne SF722 for candida overgrowth. I'm almost 100% certain that food allergies were the culprit as about 1.5 weeks into my new "safe food" diet, I no longer had congestion, post-nasal drip, sinus headaches, among other things.

I had actually been to the ER because my headaches had gone on for months, had become non-stop and so painful that I needed medicine stronger than I could get OTC.

I know everybody is different but I came up allergic to wheat, milk, eggs, pineapple (which is in bromelain, commonly used as a natural remedy for allergies), cranberry, kidney bean, brewer's yeast, baker's yeast, chili pepper, and almond. It's amazing what eliminating these foods has done for my health...not to mention my sanity;)

I am glad that you found the cause. Isn't it amazing what an ND can do vs. MD?

How did the ND do the allergy tests? I am curious how it is done. Thanks!

The test requires a blood draw at any lab. They send it to the lab that specializes in the ELISA test. My particular test was called the bloodprint. It took a week or so for results. I am SO much healthier now seeing an ND. I still have to see an MD for my thyroid but that's it.

chill 2000 seems smart!! I use oil of oreganol p73 by north american herb and spice. You can also use a netti pot. Go pick up a book on the yeast connection
i think it will help you a lot! Allergies are soo hard to get a handle on! An integrated doctor could probably do wonders for you.

Excellent post! I don't have sinus problems, however, I do use a neti pot daily and feel this is a good start along with all the other suggestions.

M,

Ditto on the neti pot...works wonders. Have you seen an ent? If you have nasal polyps the neti pot won't help much. After a familly member had nasal polyps surgery the ent recommended the Grossan nasal irrigation system.

I have a deviated septum and have had chronic sinus probs my entire life until about 5 years ago when I started practicing jala neti. It COMPLETELY alleviated my sinus problems, and I haven't used my neti pot in 3 years.

Thanks everyone for the advice on how to treat the sinus's in a more natural way. I have had chronic problems my whole life with mine. On and off antibiotics with terriable side effects that make me feel worse. I have been so desperate for some home remedies. This is very valuable to me. I will head out to get that neti pot thing too. If anyone has anymore idea's or remedies please do post them. I am so tired of suffering and I want to avoid any surgery. Thanks!

Be sure to take Probiotics to compensate for the (probable over)use of antibiotics.

U may have Candida, something I have suffered with on and off for many years, a yeast overgrowth in the intestines. Please do some searches onlne for more info and also for a listing of symptoms. Probiotics are "good bacteria" such as Acidophilus, which is found in yogurt.

My Doc told me to take a shot glass of apple vinegar each day mixed with some type of juice (the vinegar is AWFUL!). No matter how you try to dilute it, it's bad....so I just take it straight and chase it with something very distinctive...like cola or OJ.

Apparently, our bodies get out of whack in terms of PH level and the vinegar helps restore it. When the PH is low, we are much more susceptible to bacteria, colds & etc. Low PH also causes nail fungus and a host of other problems.

Other than the bad taste, there aren't any side effects. It seems to be working. I'm going to keep trying for a while.

here is another vote for a neti pot or any type of irrigation! I wish i had been brave enough to try it years ago. I even bought an extra one for work.

hey,

i have a book about noni juice, it has helped me a lot, especially with my sinus problems (noni is supposed to be really good for allergies, sinus problems etc). also, i try to stick to a non-dairy diet and i have used some of the herbal remedies as well, like echinacea, which is good and a eucalyptus/thyme oil mixture.

i hope you get better.

I second, third, or what ever the number is for the neti pot. It works wonders and I also wish I had tried it years ago.
