My husband was in the gulf was and he experiences things like extreme joint pain, and horrible nightmares from which he wakes up in a cold sweat from. We have attributed those to GWS. Is this a possibility? He has been to the local VA hospital and recieved a letter stating that IF there was such a thing as GWS he would have it, BUT since congress has not recognized it as a malady that should be treated by the VA it doesn't exist. Also our daughter was born in January with a massive heart defect and Downs syndrome, is there any research being done to attribute Downs to GWS? Any info would be appreciated.

My husband was also in Dsrt Strm. My Triple screen test came back as high risk for Down's Syndrome on my second child. He was fine at birth and then developed a hearing disorder. He is currently five and in the process of being tested for other genetic disabilities due to his delayed development. My oldest child is 6 and has motor coordination problems and some behavioral problems. Both are being tested for ADHD. My prayers are with you.

i was an air force bomb loader during the gulf war, and since i got home i have been suffering from a whole array of symptoms, from crushing headaches, asthma, insomnia, pain, and depression...i went to the VA for help, but after having to beg a skeptical doctor for an asthma inhaler, i felt that they had nothing to offer in terms of help...i just resigned myself to the pain...luckily, my stepmother, who is a nurse suggested that i try colloidal silver for my symptoms...i was naturally skeptical, having never even heard of colloidal silver, but at my wife's insistence, we made a trip to visit my dad and stepmom...after drinking silver 3 times a day for 3 days, i woke up with no headache for the first time in years...i could breath much better also, and felt like myself again...since that time, i have purchased a silver machine and make it and drink it every day...my asthma, headaches, and insomnia have been kept at bay for more than two years now...i just recently had a daughter born, and i was deathly afraid that she would be born with defects, but thankfully she is healthy and beautiful...please try colloidal silver if you or someone you know is suffering from gws...silver is available at many health food stores, and machines are available online...good luck everybody, i pray this helps others

Hi my husband is not a vet, but was exposed to different chemicles where he worked. He worked at Armtec Defense in Coachella Calif. They are contracted through the government and provide them with ammunition. My husband made casings for 120mm shells that were used in the Gulf War. He worked there in 1992 and unfortunately was only able to work there for only 1 month until he got really sick. From the 1st day he started he started feeling soreness throughout his whole body.I found him passed out in our living room floor and freaked out. I rushed him to our local hospital where they could not find anything wrong with him.right before this had happen Armtec's personnal office contacted us and wanted my husband to resign from his job. She assured us that when he was better they would give him his job back...Yeah Right, after he was hopitalized at Riverside General for at least 1 month we tried to get workmans comp. they denied him and supposubly lost his files for ever working there. When he stated this job we only had 1 daughter and was and is still very healthy. Since then we had 3 more daughters and are notticing different things going on with them my 8 yr. old had seizures when she was a baby and the Dr. said she would outgrow them due to high fevers. She has'nt had one since then. My baby who is now 3yr. was born with a dislocted hip and had to be in a full body cast for 4 months. We pray to god that it has corrected. all three of them have to use a brathing treatment maching due to broncial coughs which occur very often. It is very hard raising 4 children with very little money. Yes my husband did qualify for Social Security due to depresson and an accute case of phobic whenever he's in a big crowd of people, but its really nothing. I had to apply for public assistance because when i did go to work i would have to quit due to my husband getting sick again or needing me to care for him at home. He's been hospitalized quite a few times, and visits his dr. on a regular basis he sees a reumatoid arthrities dr and we are very thankful for him. My hsbands diagnosis Dermatomyosities (muscle Disease) all his muscles ditiriated then swelled up. My husband is 30 yrs. old and was a very athletic person in his younger years so it is hard for him to accept the way he is now. He still sometimes gets depressed and wont leave the house for nothing. Our oldest plays softball and watching her play just saddens him wishing he can be out there showing her everything he knows about the game, he used to love playing baseball.I really dont think its fair for Armtec to not let people know what kind of chemicles are used in their building. As a matter of fact they started to use a new type of chemicle when my husband stated woring there so I know it had to have come from there...ayone with any advise on what to do or who to call please reply to me Thank You and God Bless

THIS LITTLE PIECE OF DATA IS SO IMPORTANT AND BEING MISSED IN GULF WAR EVALUATIONS. THANKS FOR ANY INFO

Hello My name is Maria(abreu) Nosal

My husband served in the Gulf War. When he returned he started to experience some health problem Like memory loss, hair loss, rashes all over his body, dizziness. One day after I had my youngest son he was rushed to the hospital. At the hospital he was diagnose with Acute Leukemia. He was transfer to a hospital in NY. Montefiore Hospital, this hospital especialize in cancer. He was admitted on October 27 and died on October 30 1994 leaving behind 3 small children. I have filed several claims with the military but they all have been denied, their reason being is thathis death was not army related.

I am not looking to get rich, I just think my kids deserve something.

Does anyone have any advice on what I should do?
