how does cholestoff work

According to the explanation it coats the intestines so less Cholestrol is absorbed. That sounds good but but if your body is making too much Cholestrol then I'm not sure that it would help in that case.
Maybe there are others on this board have tried it and can tell you if if has made a difference for them.

It appears the main ingredients are Plant Sterols.

Plant sterols/stanols (pine tree) Pantethine (Pantesin)

Other Ingredients:
Tribasic Calcium Phosphate
Calcium Carbonate
Cellulose Gel
Silicon Dioxide
Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose
Croscarmellose Sodium
Crospovidone, Silica
Magnesium Stearate
Titanium Dioxide (artificial color)
Polyethylene Glycol
Triethyl Citrate
Polysorbate 80
Sodium Citrate

I take a plant sterol capsule (not Cholestoff, another brand) before meals that include fat, it absorbs the cholesterol and allows it to pass through the stool.

I also take 20 mgs. of sugar cane Policosanol at night to lower cholesterol. My LDL dropped from 191 to 157, and my HDL increased from 68 to 83, which gives me a great ratio now! I made many dietary changes also.

Today I'm going to the doc to see the results of the VAP cholesterol test I took last month.
