My two year old daughter has been tested for a variety of environmental allergies, but all tests came back negative. ( She has been diagnosed with asthma triggered by respiratory infections.) I still find it hard to believe that she doesn't have allergies, because her colds begin with one or two days of constant sneezing, watery eyes, and itchy nose. She currently is on the second day of such symptoms right now. In the past I have tried Benadryl, but it did not help. I am going to call the doctor's office tomorrow to ask about Children's Claritin - has anyone tried it? Thanks!

We've used children's claritin for both of our kids (now age 12 and 8) for years and it seems to work well. Unfortunately, if the Benadryl isn't working, I doubt that the Claritin will - Benadryl is a very powerful, very effective antihistamine (Claritin is also an effective antihistamine but its main benefit is that it doesn't have the side effects of benadryl like drowsiness and can last up to 24 hours).
If the allergy tests came back negative and the Benadryl isn't helping, it really may not be allergies that are causing her problems.

zyrtec is over the counter now, this works better to me than the claritin for me and my daughter who both have allergies
