For those of you having problems with the new Pro Air HFA albuterol, Armstrong is still making the old fashioned kind until the end of 2008 when the new requirements come into play. My pharmacy (Fred's chain in the south) still can get the Armstrong...I got one today. For hose of you having problems with the new ones, you might ask your pharmacist about the Armstrong brand....

Lots of people are having a hard time with the new inhalers. The obvious: they are more expensive, run out quicker, and often clog up, and have to be cleaned out with alcohol. But in addition, some people are having bad reactions to the new propellants or are just not able to get the medicine down to where it is helping. There are several on-line petitions about it, and one other message board I frequent has almost 450 posts of people complaining, and saying they wound up in emergency rooms for the first time in years, because the thing just does not work. I wish I could give you more information about the petitions and things, but I know it would just be deleted. You'll have to find it on your own. In the meantime, I'm stocking up on the Warrick, and hoping something will change by 2009.

Hey thanks for the info though. As every asthmatic knows it takes a lot of time to isolate the variables and discover why ones asthma may of gotten worse lately, and i think the HFA may be a factor.
