Hi,

I do weight training, using not more than 21 pound dumbells, then I take rest for 4 days before I do the next session of the same workout. I take Amino Acids, about 2,400 mg, omega 3, Magnesium and Vitamin C + B Complex.

Someone told me that in the following day to the workout I should use something like 5 pounds weight and do the same workout again. Does this help for muscles recovery?
Thanks,
Michael

You shouldn't work the same muscle group 2 days in a row. As for muscle recovery, make sure you're getting enough fluids to flush out the lactic acid and that you're getting enough protein and carbs after your workout.

There is something to that same exercise next day theory. Not a lot, of course, not enough to make you tired, but just a few reps, little or no weight, with some stretching, can get the blood going to the tired muscles and work out the knots. It's not another workout, it's just a way to ease the stiffness that can be bothersome next day.

Thanks for the info, I will try it and see what would happen. :)

I have noticed that stretching exercises are great for recovering muscles. But I'm still searching for more ways to recover faster.
