I have a frind working at a testing clinic for new drugs (you know, the kind that pays you to be a guinea pig). He says they are testing a New statin that is not suppose to have any of the side effects of the current statins.
I'll see what I can find out and post more later.

That is almost funny! Without any of the side effects of the others? They won't even admit to the side effects of the ones they have now and have lied through their teeth about the side effects they really have or the damage they do.
In Lipitor's own add last month is the USA Today, they said in their OWN study 3% in the group that took the placebo had heart attacks, and bragged that of the ones on Lipitor, 2% had heart attacks. So, what they actually said to me was what they had on their own web sight for awhile, that is has NOT been proven to prevent heart attacks and strokes. Nowhere in that ad did the offer the percentage of people who suffered major, life altering side effects.
Lets hope this is the one that one of the statin drug makers has had the patent on for years and not used yet.. the one that has COQ-10 in it.

Results were published online in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences about the newly researched drug, KB2115, that may offer an alternative for patients who can't tolerate statins. It was developed by a Swedish pharmaceutical company Karo Bio AB. The research was conducted at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, and the University of California, San Francisco.

People still don't get it. It not about the lowering of your cholesterol. It's about inflammation. The human body still needs some set amount of cholesterol in it to function peroperly, in fact I read awhile back that a total cholesterol number lower than 150 is actually unsafe. Do a search on Linus Pauling and his ideas concerning Vitamin C and lack of it in our human diets.
I think he stated that 3,000 mg. is a good start per day to help fight heart disease and lower your cholesterol.

He recommends 6-18 grams per day!

Mayor worte "People still don't get it. It not about the lowering of your cholesterol. It's about inflammation."
AMEN! This statin drug/cholesterol is just as big a scam as the big tobacco scam was years ago. If you just pay attention to what they have changed their attitude about already..Hormone therapy that was pushed on women, have now been found to cause breat cancer, to mention one. Look how great cigaretts were suppose to be when they came out, even the doctors approved smoking and smoked themselves! Just look at the recalls and black box warnings that are added to the drugs that were suppose to be the newest, latest miracle on the market. Obviously, it is easier to get one ON the market than to get one off of it. Just look at HISTORY!

What is everyone's feeling on how much Vitamin C per day is a safe amount?
love2fishfork below stated that He recommends 6-18 grams per day! meaning Linus Pauling. Is 6,000 to 18,000 milligrams of Vitamin C really O.K. to take? I have heard a school of thought that what your body does not need it gets rid of in your urine. I had a few kidney stones a couple of years back and I thought I remember the urologist suggesting I was taking too much Vitamin C back then.
