Has anyone ever had Asthma hit them ie" dry cough, throat closing off, hard time breathing " just kind of overnight? I have had this now for 2+ months and have had all the tests done..all is normal except my Dr has diagnosed Asthma ( pollution, allergy related )..I DID NOT know it could hit so suddenly & last so long..I'm scared even with Dr's reassurance . Helpppppppppp:(

That's how it happens. One day you don't have it and the next you do. And you'll have it for the rest of your life. Are you seeing a pulmonologist? I recommend that you do.

Titchou is right on...for people with adult onset asthma it typically just hits you when your body reacts to something that you may have been exposed to thousands of times before.
Definitely see a pulmonologist, try to get your allergies under control, and try to get on a maintenance plan (long-acting inhaler, rescue inhaler if needed, singulair, etc) that helps you manage it.
If you ever have heartburn you should discuss that with your doctor as well - for some people heartburn/acid reflux can trigger asthma by irritating the mucus membranes in the respiratory tract and causing inflammation of the airways.
