So, I went away and had to fly. I never have a problem flying but I always have to sit on an aisle seat, on the plane, in a booth, etc...going to vacation it was fine, able to get an aisle seat, had great seat...coming home today the number I had for the ticket was one of the last groups to board the plane. I got very very panicky that I would not get an aisle seat that I had to talk to the people in the airport and they were able to give me a pass to preboard the plane. I actually felt as if I was starting to have a panic attack and that made me talk to them about pre boarding....
Does this ever happen to anyone else with the seating thing? For me basically I have this fear of being packed into the side and not getting out and also the fear of the dirt...sitting in the inside and my body touching the side of the seat, or booth in a restaurant...etc...

When I'm going through a real OCD period or right after one I'm the same way, church, planes, restaurants, i really feel more comfortable with an aisle seat. For whatever reason it gives me that sense of freedom to escape if I need to, even if I don't really need it. For me its not the dirt thing, just that, but it was especially strong when i first started having OCD as my fear was throwing up and I wanted a way out (of course my fear never came true, stupid OCD :) )

Well I'm sorry I can't relate since I love sitting in a window seat. I love looking out the window at all the clouds and down onto the country. Then again with me being 6'3" sitting in a window seat sometimes is a little uncomfortable, so I just get up and walk around.:D

I always loved the window seat until I sat next to a creepy guy one time about 7 years ago.
I was afraid to go to the bathroom because it would have required climbing over him.
Now I go for the aisle.
