hello again
I have a question.. as i said in my other post my OCD is REALLY bad this month, and ive also been spotting on and off all month..I wanted to know how can i regulate my hormones and make my ocd calm down? I believe that the hormones are the reason for my spike in OCD, but i hear that birth control can sometimes make ocd/depression worse? any advice? thanks :)

I say this every month..PMS triggers my OCD..I honestly feel that it does..When my hormones are going crazy, I go crazy..lol..
About three years ago I got on a form of birth control..I too thought it would help with my "moods", (didn't know those moods were OCD then). But for me, it made it worse. I spotted all three months, major water weight, and obsessive thoughts got out of control..I felt like I had PMS for 90 days..I got rid of the birth control after that..
Go to your GYN..Talk to them..Try it, might help, might not..

Catgirl, the birth control you tried wouldn't have been Depro-Provera would it? I was on that about 10 yrs ago, thought I was losing my mind the effects were so bad.
I too have a real hard time at that time of the month..pms week and the actual week of my period is brutal.

I didn't get diagnosed with OCD until shortly after menopause. I always thought I "just" had depression (thought feelings of panic and anxiety were normal). Then in the early 80s a friend share an article on PMS that her mother had shared with her. So I figured that was what was wrong with me. Looking back, I think it was a combination of the PMS and the OCD that made me most irritable.

Hi Nikki,
What my GYN gave me,(I forgot the name of it) was a ring..You insert it, leave it in..Its plastic(bendable) and filled with hormones that get released..It came with a little counter type thing that counted the days for you..After 28 days you take it out and then have your peroid..I went three months of this, and bled the whole time..It was a pain in the butt to deal with..Kinda felt like wearing a tampon, plus you always had to "check" it, if you get what I mean..lol..
What you talking is the shot? Right? I had that after my daughter was born..That lasted 3 months too..Can't say what side effects I had because it was a hard labor and delivery...Everything went wrong once I came home from the hospital..
