View Full Version : Unsuccessful bunionectomy(?)

I had a bunionectomy December 2006. Two weeks into the recovery, I "rebroke" my surgical site Christmas Eve; because all I felt was a "popping" motion, I waited until my followup doctor's appt. (At this point, I really didn't know what I had done). My doctor, whom I have great respect for, did not want to reset the break; he wanted to see if it would heal. But, in July of 2007, my foot started hurting just to the point of terrible pain and I have been in a surgical shoe since. I had the hardware removed in August. It now feels like I have a large "immobile" knot from the bottom of my foot to the top where the scar it. The scar itself is not painful; however, I feel a stabbing, knifelike pain, when I walk. I am having a consult visit next week. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? Thanks.

i hope the consult is with other doctors. you need other opinions because you should not be in such pain and still wearing a surgical shoe. i get pain on the bottom of my foot when i walk too much.
