I have changed my diet to include seeds- flax-pumpkin-sunflower, sprouted grains, lots of green leafy salads , fish and chicken.
And I have started having green bowl movements, should I be worried?
And should I call the doctor?
I feel fine, no cramps or tummy ache-
Only the odd green color!
Thank you for any advise:)

Hi..are you eating any other foods such as complex carbs. Sprouted grains ... such as rice? What others and in what forms?

Are you eating other foods that have food colouring in them?

Are your bms formed, once or twice a day, no urgency, ...in other words....normal for you?

The dark green salads, especially spinach, will cause some green stools. Also, if you're eating any blue-coloured berries, that will encourage green stool.

Yes, blueberries a handful each day and spinach every few days- I'm eating all natural foods, no food coloring. Sprouted bread and cereal, and Golden Alive Flax crackers.
I feel well, no cramps or anything else irregular. Before I changed my diet I was always extremely constipated. Now I'm going twice a day very easily.
Its only the color change that alarms me, the shape and consistency is fine.
Thank you:)

Hi..makes sense then...I think that it's because of the blue in the blueberries (blue + yellow bile = green bms), plus the dark green veggies.

Sounds as though it's nothing really to be concerned about if everything else is normal.

Be well,

Ahhh, the rules of color apply inside your body then- LOL!
OK, thanks:)

Curious...what kind of green are you talking about?

I have recently noticed that sometimes my stool is a yellow green after eating yoghurt. It does not matter which flavour of yoghurt I eat. I picked up this definition about stool identification from another web site -
"Green stools may be bacteria, or a green or blue food eaten. Green, blue, or yellow artificial colorings too".

Hi All,

Black licorice and also pistacio nuts will also turn your stools green.
