Hi all. I've been reading more and more about vitamins/minerals/supplements that may help with HTN. I've come across many of them, but I want to list those that are in almost everything I read: Vitamin E, Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, Garlic and CoQ10. Are there any other "natural" remedies (in addition to diet and exercise!) any of you take to help your high blood pressure? I already take some of these daily, but thought about adding the CoQ10 and Vitamin E if I could "hear" some good things about them on the board. Thanks!

Natural Vitamin E - 1000 mg, 500 mg Vit C, the CQ10 is very good. I do not take Calcium/Magnesium/Potassium/Zinc but I used to before
taking Benicar.

I'm not a big advocate of taking vitamins due to the majority of them do assimilate through your liver when overdosed on. I believe in getting your vitamins though foods that you eat. Although there are some that would be impossible to get enough of. I only take calcium and magnesium and CO-Q10. The magnesium is wonderful for heart papitations and other issues. I am blown away of how much the magnesium helps in a feeling of well being for me.
Remember never ever take calcium without magnesium. Calcium depletes your body of magnesium. Calcium needs Magnesium to assimilate it in your body. If you do not have enough it takes it from your bodies own storage..I found this product called natural calm magnesium..it is awesome and has stopped my palpitations and more importantly has made me feel 10 years younger no lie...good luck to you, Lisa

I also found that magnesium limits the instances of PVCs/PACs I experience almost to zero.
Moxie, how many milligrams do you take each day?
