I will first appologize if this has been posted in the past, but I couldnt find my answers anywhere!! My husband is 33 and has high blood preassure. I know that there are a lot of things to take into consideration when trying to lower your blood preassure, but I cant make him do them if he doesnt want to! But I can help by cooking the right foods! If anyone has any kind of recipes for people with high blood preassure, or knows of any foods that is good to help lower blood preassure, please let me know, I would very much like to have him around for the rest of my life, and really want to help in anyway that I can, I feel that my salty cooking hasnt helped him keep it down. We have only just found out about it!! Many many thatnks to all of you who will lend me there time and consideration!!

Get rid of the salt shaker and start buying fresh herbs..cook plenty of slamon, tuna, makeral, chicken..plenty of veggies, salads and fruit. The best salmon is atlantic and not farm raised (never farm raised fish). There are not enough nutrients in farm raised. Go to a health food store near you and buy him Omega 3 Fatty Acids and have him and yourself take them 2 times a day. Buy green tea concentrate with no caffein and put a full dropper full in ice water or whatever he likes to drink. Also flaxseed in cereals. Cook only with First pressed extra virgin olive oil. I hope I helped and good luck to you, Lisa

Thank you so much for your advice!! I am keeping my fingures crossed!! I dont have a healthfood store nearby, I live in the booneys of Virginia, But Tennessee has plenty of them, I will check them out the next time I can go!! Many Many thanks again, I greatly appreciate it!! I have been doing more surfing for recipes that may appeal to him, as he is picky, most of the came from the Culinary Institute of America, and the ones I picked are low in salt and low in fat, I will leave out the salt completely!! Also I found out that two celery stalks a night will lower blood pressure as well!! He likes that!! Thanks so much again!! I will be checking back frequently for any all and advice, and reading the boards regulary!! This will be good for the whole family!! Thank you!!

if he like a lot of salt you can get some in the grocery store that's lower in sodium. It's where the reqular salt it. It looks and tastes like regular salt. Just replace the ones in your salt shaker with it. If you want him to get some exercise ask him to take a walk with you. Tell him you want to get more exercise and you want to start taking walks but you don't like to go alone, you need someone to talk to. If he's resistant go out a few times and maybe he'll start joining you soon.
