I am scheduled for an MRI without contrast to check for a possible acoustic neuroma. I have diminished hearing in my left ear and bad tinitis in my left ear only. I also get bad migraines on the left side of my head.
Here is the new symptom. My left cheek has been getting numb lately for the last month or so. Started off with light tingling but has become a lot more noticeable as of late. Feels like the last half hour of freezing from a dentist.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be related to an acoustic neuroma?

Just based on the quick search I did, I believe facial numbness can be one of the symptoms. Don't sweat it until you get your MRI back, and even then remain calm because I understand that AN can be treated with gamma knife surgery (no incisions required). Good luck, and take care.

I get the numbness. It comes and goes. Same feeling I explained it as the way your cheek would feel after you are outside in the cold for a long time but the dentist thing is the same. Anyway I've had MRI's done and nothing came up. They weren't looking for the specifically but I assume if it was there they would have seen it. From what I understand alot of people that have inner ear disorders have the numbness too
The numbness could also be related to migraine (which you have said you have) so don't stress too much yet!

The facial nerve runs near the acoustic nerve, and might well run within an acoustic neuroma, if you have one. In my case it did, and got damaged and repaired during surgery. That said, I had no facial nerve symptoms until after the surgery, which largely resolved after a period of time. Should it come to that, your neurosurgeon will explain it all to you. Good luck

No the numb feeling is there most days. Does not matter if I have a migrain or not.
