View Full Version : Should I Have the ablation?

I am scheduled for a cardiac ablation on the 30th of this month for SVT (I also have PVCs, but I know that won't help it). I have had SVT for years, but only got them more frequently after having twins. I am on metoprolol Cr and haven't gotten them at all. But I hate medicines and heard that the dose will just go up and up over time (of course I may still need it to control the pvcs)/

I have heard so many postiives and negatives about this procedure. I am only 31 and my children are under 2. It would be very hard to take care of them for that week after surgery (not holding them will be very hard as they are very needy). Is it worth it?

My son's buddy had an ablation in grade school b/c of SVT. No further troubles and tolerated the procedure well. Good luck with your decision, and the procedure- should you choose to proceed.

I am 25/f. I had an ablation done August 06. Not 100% successful but it helped a bit. The risks are pretty darn low to be honest. I was fine and am fine, but i do still have svt and palps and flutters!!!
