Wondering how those of you with reflux/GERD sleep. I usually try and sleep on my back, up on pillows. Invariably I wind up moving lower on the pillows and turned to my left side. If I try to sleep on my right side, I feel all gassy burpy and cant sleep from the bloat/discomfort. Wondering if its just me, or all of us.

My Dr. told me not to sleep on a bunch of pillows because you will slide and put your stomach in a position that will make reflux worse. I tried one of those wedge pillows but they are so uncomfortable to me. I'm afraid of damaging my bed (it's so huge) that I don't want anything under it. Wouldn't like the look anyway. So, I sleep on a good quality pillow and favor my right side but try to sleep on left side, which I know is better. I have LPR more so than GERD, although I have issues with it too. I actually feel better lying down sometimes when the LPR is bad. Stops the coughing fits. On the other hand if the GERD is bad, I feel the need to sit up in bed at nite sometimes. I can't win. Sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear and I'm such a downer. All in all, I do get to rest at night without symptoms.

My husband has the same problem. He wakes me up gurgling and coughing. He starts out on pillows but as the nite goes on he slides off I guess. I feel for you and wish I had a good answer. I have been told to elevate the head of the bed , but we have a King size bed and haven't figured out exactly how yet.lol
Hope you figure something out and please post if you do. Good Luck
