Hi

I have had asthma for almost 12 years along with acid reflux and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The past few days I have been having shortness of breath which is worse upon exertion and chest tightness along with some coughing and congestion. It does not feel like my normal asthma attacks. I have not gone to the doctor yet. I am taking my rescue inhaler (ventalin) for the shortness of breath. Any ideas.

It sounds like something is aggravating your asthma but that could be anything from a flare up of your acid reflux, to a virus. If you're having to use your rescue inhaler more than usual it's probably wise to get to the doctor.

Do you have a plan to change your daily meds when sick or having issues? You should. If so, follow it. If not, get to your pulmonologist and formulate a plan.
