Hey all,
I have had wierd sensations in my throat since last Friday and are still having them today. I assume that they may be GERD related since it happened 3 weeks ago, I went to a doc in the box and took pepcid and they went away. I don't have problems getting food down, nor is my throat hurt or is it scratchy. I do cough sometimes, but its productive and not painful.
I just have this constant lump, burpy feeling and throb. I have been on Priolosec since Sunday and are wondering how long it takes to work. I really doing want to go to my interist, because I will sit there all day and will have to take a day off of work. And all for him to tell me to take Prilosec. I have been eating smaller meals with less fat and drinking up on the water.
At what point should I see a doctor? When it becomes painful?
It seems to be getting better, but that could be because I am at work and preoccupied.
Thanks,
Lyl

Finally someone that is having this too!!! i ended up in ER friday night. i thought i was having a heart attack. Mine started friday.accompanied with horrible heartburn that would not go away. My heartburn is gone and the fluttery sensation went away for a bit but then came right back and i dont have heartburn but it does feel like something in there, Hospital told me i was having palpataions. Mine feels burpy also and i am coughing a whole lot more. I have no idea what this is but i dont like it. Its an uncomfortable feeling!

I am glad I am not the only one! I did end up going to my internist last Thursday and its not palpatations because what I feel is in the middle of my neck at the base of my jaw. I have had palps (SVTs) in the past and they are felt in on the side of my neck where that big vein is that you can feel your purse in. He said it is acid reflux and an esophageal spasms. Basically the acid is causing the sensations. He put me on Nexium, and they appear to be getting better.
I have a lot of anxiety from SVTs (rapid heart rate episodes) and wonder if this is a result of the acid reflux all along.
I read prrabbit's post on the "heart disorders" board and are considering trying apple cider vinegar like he talks about. PVCs are close to SVTs and wondering if it can help me also.
good luck and I am glad I am not alone,
