My GD has asthma & some of her triggers are perfumes, cig smoke scented products. Do you or your children find these inhalants trigger an asthma attack? My GD does much better when school is out & she is not exposed to irritants. Can you believe a teacher gave all the children in her class scented deod because there is one boy that has BO. GD came home from school pale & sick. I know the teacher was trying to be helpful but it's very distressing to me. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.

I think you are overeacting. Seriously...and I have asthma and allergies, too. We can't avoid all triggers. That is, unless you want to live in a bubble. Her teacher should be informed of her medical issues and what is good and what is bad. Don't assume she knows. Many people don't. I chair a meeting in Ohio every January and each year I have to remind the staff there that some of us have respiratory issues and please don't give us any scented products in our gift bags.
I assume your GD is on meds for her asthma and it's under control?

I don't think I'm overreacting. GD is on meds but they don't prevent bronchial infections & sore throats from inhalants. Her teacher is aware of her medical issues. I don't make an issue of this to my GD because I know she has to live in the world & I don't want to draw attention to it. Since it not my child I have no right to get involved. I do expect teachers to have a little common sense than this. I don't think you should have to medicate a child just because of ignorant people. Just my opinion.
