Hey hey folks
Since a few days I been feeling sore all over. Started with my legs, and now it's up to my arms too. It feels like it hurts mostly around the joints... It's an on and off pain, sometimes the limb hurts for a while, then goes away. Then it hurts at another. Or it hurts all four at once. I went to the doc, he took blood from me and he said it was all fine and I should wait it out and see.
What do you guys think it could be? I didn't do any big exercises...

Say, just to add... sometimes I get tingling. You know, when it feels you're getting attacked by an army of ants? Yea.

:)It sounds like how I felt when my fibromyalgia began (I also had a rash too) and my blood tests all came out normal. I would suggest going to the fibromyalgia board and read some of the posts and see if you identify with any of the other symptoms. And/or do some research on the internet. There is a national foundation for fibromyalgia and you can also go to WebMD website. Be prepared dealing with doctors if this is the case. Good luck!

Really?? You have that? Even tingling in the face? I know I'm a bit paranoid and this all scares me a lot. But I've been said I also have IBS and I know that folks with fibromyalgia often has that too...
I know there's scary stuff out there that sounds like fibro as well... What do you mean get ready to deal with doctors anyway? They won't tell me that's it??

I have Fibro. And the bug-like sensation went from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. SO ANNOYING! I also have IBS. What blood tests did they do? Just a CBC or did they test for things like Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, lymes disease etc...?
Some doctors believe in Fibro some don't so I would call around to Rheumatologists and/or pain clinics and ask if they treat Fibro. I have had every test under the sun and they all come out normal. Some doctors completely disregarded a Fibro diagnosis and others didn't. But believe me it is real not just "in your head!"
I was in so much pain at one point I couldn't lift my arms to wash my hair, get dressed and even walk at some points. I could list all my symptoms but you'd be reading forever;). I am now on a medicine that has worked wonders. Try not to get too panicky because I had the same feelings about what it "could" be. Take it one day at a time and don't give up.
Catch it early because mine just kept progressing.

I don't know which bloodwork they did. Doc never told me. He just said it was all fine and shoved me out of the hospital... I know one of them was for pregnancy. HA.
I got myself an appointment with my regular doctor. Problem is that it takes a month to get to see her! Health system is horribly slow here. I could always try to go to a free clinic but then again...
I see that a lot of folks mention "Tender points" or something. What are they? I don't think I have anything like that... Is that a must?
PS: thanks a lot for the attention, you're starting to make me feel reassured. :D

:)Hey there-I am glad I can help....we all need reassurance at some point;)!
Why don't you request a copy of the bloodwork from the hospital. I know in the U.S. we have a HIPPA law and need to sign for any medical records. I would suggest you go there and do it...not through the mail because it would take forever! This bloodwork would also be helpful for your future doctor visits. Also make copies for yourself. It really sucks when doctors don't take your concerns seriously. Many are very quick just to get you out of there:D! That's what I mean...some doctors chalk "women's" issues up to anxiety/hormones etc.
Maybe if you tell you doctor you are in pain and what is going on they could squeeze you in sooner. I know my father always squeezes patients in if they are in distress. But again I don't know how they do it in Canada:).
I would think the free clinic is an option but you really need someone to follow-up on your issues. I would only go there if the pain is impeding functioning and you need medication.
What I think you mean is "trigger points"...I had some of them....but not all. I would research it on WebMD so you can see a diagram of where they are located along with what they feel like. We all present Fibromyalgia in different ways. Hope this helps!

Well, I checked the trigger points and I'm not sure I have any of them... does that rule out Fibromyalgia?
And I doubt I'll be able to hurry up the meet up with my doctor... Quebec's healthcare is worse than in the rest of canada, trust me. The docs at the free clinic know me well (THEY had to diagnose my IBS so...) but that's usually a place for flus or colds or infections... I don't like bothering them too much with my paranoia :)
I gotta say, I'm a very paranoid person. All this stresses me a lot :(

Hi again-
Well obviously something is going on with you. You are aware you are a "paranoid" person but this doesn't negate what physically is happening to you. Have you had any traumas in your life?
Anxiety/panic is a very real physical and psychological issue that can be managed. But are you getting increased anxiety from the pain or is the pain causing the anxiety? That is the million dollar question. You really need to get the anxiety/panic under control because I know personally it sucks.
I cannot say what you have is Fibro or anything else. It would be interesting to here your BLD test results and what they tested for. Try to breath through the anxiety and panic....you are not going to die, although it does feel like it sometimes.

I'd say that any pinching pain worries me, and a widespread pain sure makes me panic. I do realize it doesn't help me function but also I don't want to talk too much about it because it makes me feel crazy. I don't want any pills or a psi or something like that.
Imagine the reaction I had when I noticed yesterday night when I came out of the shower that I had a red spot under my eye... Looks like a petechia. I absolutely freaked out and this morning I am completely spent. This will be a long day...

I understand that talking about issues definitely creates obssesive thoughts where you fear the worse. You begin to become so hyper-aware of your body and every little mark or feeling becomes something life-threatening. You definitely should see a psychiatrist/therapist to work out why you are experiencing such anxiety/panic. I have and sometimes are still there....it is hell! But please don't automatically disregard medicine to help you. I did for years. It was definitely a mistake. My quality of life is so much better.
I really feel, even through typed words, your fear. I won't have you discuss anything that creates more tension/anxiety/panic/fear etc....! If you want to talk about something else, or just not talk anymore, that is so understandable. And,just a note of advice,DON'T look up every symptom/problem on the internet because believe me,at one time or another, I have thought I have had EVERY disease imaginable :D!
Just try to take deep breaths and know you will get through it and keep yourself busy. There are ways to decrease the obssesive thoughts but I am definitely not qualified to teach them...I am still learning myself.
I wish you well. Racing thoughts/fears can definitely make you spent. Take care:angel:.
